Arjit Shankar, son of acclaimed filmmaker Shankar, is set to make his acting debut in a film titled Lover Boy. The launch pooja ceremony was held in Chennai, attended by directors Shankar, A. R. Murugadoss, H. Vinoth, Abishek Jeevindt, Bigg Boss fame Raju Jeyamohan, actress Aditi Shankar, and several others.
Arjit, who studied film production in the U.S. and trained in acting at the National School of Drama in Delhi, is now stepping into cinema as a lead actor. The film is directed by Ashok, a former assistant to Atlee, and jointly produced by Passion Studios and KVN Productions. Actress Keerthy Shetty has been signed as the female lead opposite Arjit.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay's son, Jason Sanjay, also attended the event to congratulate his close friend Arjit. Jason Sanjay is making his directorial debut with Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan, produced by Lyca Productions, which is scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
