Coimbatore Announces Traffic Restrictions for Ganesh Idol Immersion

Coimbatore is implementing traffic arrangements for Ganesh idol immersion processions scheduled on September 16 and 18.

According to reports, hundreds of idols are expected to be taken for immersion, prompting police authorities to introduce traffic restrictions and diversions in areas along the procession routes.

The traffic arrangements are intended to help manage crowds, processions and vehicle movement. Residents travelling through affected areas may experience delays, particularly during the peak hours of the immersion activities.

Police and civic authorities typically deploy additional personnel during major public processions to manage traffic and maintain safety. Residents are advised to follow local traffic announcements and use alternative routes where diversions are implemented.

The arrangements are particularly important because Coimbatore has several busy commercial and residential corridors that can experience congestion when large processions take place.
