Tamil Nadu Plans 29,108 New Police Posts Over Five Years
The Tamil Nadu government has announced plans to create 29,108 additional police personnel positions over the next five years. Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay announced the proposal in the Assembly, with the government also planning to increase the participation of women in the police force.
According to the announcement, around 10,000 personnel, including 5,000 women, are expected to be recruited during the current year. The government has also indicated measures for police modernisation, as the state continues to address staffing requirements and strengthen its law-and-order infrastructure.
The expansion could create a significant number of employment opportunities while also improving the manpower available to police departments across Tamil Nadu.
