Tamil Nadu Intensifies Efforts to Bring Stranded Citizens Home from Nepal

Tamil Nadu has intensified its coordination with the Centre following the Nepal flash-flood disaster. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay chaired a review meeting on the rescue situation and directed officials to work closely with central agencies and authorities in Nepal. The Tamil Nadu government has been monitoring the situation involving pilgrims and tourists from the state.

Four Tamil Nadu ministers have been sent to Delhi to coordinate with central authorities and support the rescue and repatriation process. Officials say the immediate priority is identifying missing pilgrims, confirming the safety of those who have been located and ensuring safe transportation back to India.

The disaster has become a major concern for families across Tamil Nadu, particularly those waiting for information about relatives who travelled to Nepal for pilgrimage. Authorities have urged families to rely on official updates while rescue and identification operations continue.
