PM Modi to Visit Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Putin Meeting Expected

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from August 29 to September 1, with the visit expected to strengthen India's strategic and economic engagement with Central Asia.

A major focus of the visit will be the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek. Modi is also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit. India and Russia are continuing cooperation in areas including energy, fertilisers and trade.

The visit comes at a time when India is seeking stronger connectivity, economic partnerships and strategic engagement with Central Asian countries.
