US-Russia Ukraine Talks End Without Major Breakthrough

Russian President Vladimir Putin held more than three hours of discussions with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow over possible ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Kremlin officials described the discussions as useful, but there was no immediate breakthrough.

The negotiations remain complicated because Moscow and Kyiv continue to disagree sharply over territory, security guarantees and the future of Ukraine. The U.S. envoys are expected to continue diplomatic discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The latest talks nevertheless represent another diplomatic channel between Washington and Moscow at a time when military attacks continue on the ground.
