India’s Economy Records Strong 7.8% Growth in April–June Quarter

India's economy expanded by 7.8% year-on-year in the April–June 2026 quarter, beating expectations and demonstrating resilience despite global economic uncertainty and geopolitical pressures. The latest growth figure was higher than the RBI's earlier 7% forecast.

Manufacturing, financial services, investment and domestic consumption were among the important contributors to the expansion. Private investment also showed stronger momentum, suggesting that India's growth story is increasingly being supported by businesses in addition to government-led infrastructure spending.
