Tamil Nadu Schools to Get Major Sports Push
Tamil Nadu is planning to provide sports jerseys to around 23 lakh students studying in government and government-aided schools.
The initiative will cover students from Classes IX to XII. The government also plans to strengthen sports and arts activities and develop 50 government high and higher secondary schools as sports-focused institutions.
The programme is part of a wider effort to encourage students to participate in sports alongside academics.
The state is also planning to expand technology-based personalised learning initiatives in government schools.
