ISRO Set to Launch EOS-05 Satellite on September 4
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing for the launch of the GSLV-F17/EOS-05 mission, scheduled for September 4, 2026, at 2:55 AM IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. EOS-05 is an advanced Earth-observation satellite and will be India's first imaging satellite to operate from a geosynchronous orbit.
The satellite is expected to strengthen India's ability to continuously monitor large geographical regions. Its applications include weather observation, disaster management, environmental monitoring and agriculture. The mission is particularly significant because it marks ISRO's return to launches after the January 2026 PSLV-C62 mission.
